LEARN BARI✨STAR SKILLS

Our young entrepreneurs learn barista and business skills over 12 sessions and project manage their own gig earning 50% of the profits.

We offer practical and creative training for young people who struggle with academic programs.

Our work is based in the Banburyshire area but also covers North Oxfordshire and Oxford.

Banburyshire to the House of Lords

Eamon has energy!

Driven, ambitious, motivated by money.

From a big family, he's learned from a squad of older brothers - there's no room for slackers.

Bored by most lessons, Eamon needed strong relationships with teachers he respected to support his learning - otherwise his impulse was to disrupt or disappear.

Get Fed was a different kind of offer.

Eamon was enthused by the idea of enterprise.

He quickly learned his barista skills and set about charming his customers with his edgy banter.

Offered the chance to visit the House of Lords Eamon embraced the opportunity and solemnly held the attention of Lord Janvrin and assorted VIP's (pictured).

In June 2024 he was part of the pitch-winning team that scooped 2nd prize and £1000 at Oxford University's Start Up Demo Night.

Eamon is irrepressible when faced with a relevant challenge.

One of our first gigs was a cold and wet Saturday at a local pub 'festival' where almost nobody turned up.  This totally failed to dampen Eamon's zeal and he smiled and joked his way through the afternoon realising the value of simply turning up and getting the name out there.

That's huge business nous and motivation at 14 years of age!  One to watch, for sure! 👊🏼

Eamon is employed at a premium local cafe/restaurant where he is rapidly learning many aspects of runnning a catering business.

Kenz

From curious to collaborator.

Kenz is not at his best when expected to sit still and learn academically.

Give him a creative challenge and he explodes into life / song / dance!

From the start he had this huge appetite for Get Fed and many months later his energy is still seismic.

Our customers appreciate the love that Kenz puts into every drink and every meeting.

He's got star quality.

A bit of a diva at times but he always will be a huge slice of the Get Fed story.

Fiercely independent

K had battles at school sometimes just getting to school.

Most of these battles were internal you couldn't see them but you could sense a distance and discomfort, a lad with amazing potential who was trying but not able to integrate with all of the expectations of secondary school.

People worried he would go down the wrong path.

While he also had great passions, energy and skills.  Football, food and friends.  He had this full life and lots of great opportunity... but school was a chore; a puzzle he couldn't solve.

Our young entrepreneurs are the most precious asset we have

  • What’s the story?

    Get Fed tuk tuk

Get Fed was founded by Tim Parkhouse, a Youth Worker with  20+ years experience in Criminal Justice.

Tim saw the rising numbers of excluded children and those missing school, the closed youth clubs and the success of the drug dealers and wondered how things could be improved for young  people who are not academic but are entrepreneurial?

Fed up with constant cuts to funding he created a Social Enterprise to work with some of our brightest talent who do their best work out of the classroom.

An amazing corporate sponsor bought us our first coffee van and we started training young entrepreneurs in barista and business skills.

    It works!  ☕️🤎✌🏼

  • Who is eligible?

    Get Fed tuk tuk

Young people aged 13 - 19 at risk of exclusion and/or exploitation.

  • Why coffee?

    Get Fed tuk tuk

Young people who are not doing well at school are more likely to be excluded and more likely to be exploited into criminal activity.

Training them to make and sell frothy coffee is our way of trying to replace the drug dealers - by providing a hustle that is safe and legal.

  • Caffeine not cocaine? What kind of choice is that?

    Get Fed tuk tuk

For 10's of thousands of children in the UK the reality is they are missing school and may be experiencing severe poverty.  Selling cocaine is a quick and available route to money but has huge risks and inevitable trauma.

Get Fed promotes enterprise and provides the opportunity for young entrepreneurs to learn employment skills and earn on our coffee van.

No child should feel forced into drugs exploitation or modern day slavery.

  • Is Get Fed a charity?

    Get Fed tuk tuk

    Not quite.

We are a Community Interest Company Limited by Guarantee which is legally as close as you can get to being a charity.

We are 'not for profit' so all surplus income is used to help more young people become even sharper hustlers.  Safely and legally.  ✌🏼
